Elegant Christmas

Jose Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney

This picture reminds me of the elegant Christmases I had at home when I was a child. I can remember my little brother and I anxiously waiting for Christmas morning to open the presents under the tree. My mother would wrap them with beautiful silver wrapping with lovely prints on them and lots of ribbons. We would try our best to guess, rattle it, peep without damaging the wrapper.

I'm grateful to my family for celebrating Christmas and creating warm memories for me.

I hope to do the same for my children.

So, yes, this is a reminder that Christmas is round the corner! What are we going to do this year for an elegant Christmas?

  1. What a gorgeous photo!

I love elegant decorating. For many years, I used to buy foil printed wrapping paper and ribbon in a particular color scheme each year so all of the presents under the Christmas tree would match. One year it might be all red prints with silver, another year it might be navy/blue and silver, etc. (I had an elegant tree trimmed with silver and white ornaments at that time.) It made everything look beautiful.

Currently, I tablescape (decorating a dinner table) as a hobby. Last year I made some elegant and gorgeous tables. This is one I made for Christmas last year:

Love your blog and website. It's so nice to have someone wo appreciates the art of living elegantly.
